Fortunately, that’s not the case anymore and we finally have films talking about complex, modern and real relationships. Ever been in a situation where you’re in love with your boyfriend yet somehow can’t seem to let go of your ex? Well, you’re going to love Sweet Home Alabama then. The plot revolves around Melanie, who’s engaged to the most eligible bachelor in the city. However, when she’s planning her dream wedding, secrets from her past begin to haunt her, including Jake, the man she married in High School who refuses to divorce her!

Don’t know about you, but I’ve certainly been in a situation where my best friend and I liked the same guy, and I can tell you that it’s not a great place to be in. This film maturely sheds light on the same topic and the ensuing complex emotions of modern romantic relationships and platonic friendships.
Manmarziyaan

Manmarziyaan portrays a more realistic version of modern relationships free from idealised romance, and those typical big gestures which seem to make everything right in the end. The movie revolves around the topics of flings, arranged marriages, and complicated relationships and lets the storyline unfold around the characters. If you haven’t watched this incredible movie starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal, we suggest you do so right away.
Gehraiyaan

Love is sweet, complicated, painful, and even devastating at times and Gehraiyaan does a fabulous job at beautifully portraying all this and more. The movie talks about loving someone, infidelity, and being stuck in a loveless relationship. The story is about Alisha, who begins an affair with her cousin Tia’s fiance. All’s well until Zain begins to show his true colours! Gehraiyaan is the type of movie that you watch alone at night, with a glass of red wine and dim lights.
