Hair that is healthy and lovely, that is naturally coloured, makes a huge impact on one's appearance. Experts feel that one should match the hair colour to their personality and regardless of the hue, if you opt for an Ayurvedic and vegan colour, you probably already know that the threads require specific care. Probably you are also aware that daily colour care is required if you want the greatest results and the colour to last longer.
“Having long-lasting coloured hair is what many people desire, but after a few days, the dark tones, say reddish and copper, tend to fade as the strands lose colour. For this reason, the maintenance of coloured hair makes all the difference and thus is extremely important. On a daily basis, attention to small details is what guarantees beautiful hair that is full of life and a lot of shine,” reveals Clelia Cecilia Angelon, CEO & Founder of Surya Brasil who shares simple and doable ways to keep the colour in the hair for longer.

Tip 1: Hydrate your hair on a regular basis to keep moisture and nutrients in the strands while maintaining colour and softness.
Tip 2: Be careful about the usage of modellers, hair straighteners/chapinha, Babyliss and dryer. Despite leaving hair beautiful, they are also great agents of dryness and a major cause of the loss of colour.
Tip 3: Use suitable and natural products, such as the Colour Fixation Line, to maintain and fix the hair colour, made with ingredients extracted from plants. Herbs with emollient properties, such as babassu oil, rice protein, cupucaçu, and buriti, should be used to ensure the complete colour setting and hair nourishment.
Tip 4: Make sure that all products are free of harmful ingredients such as parabens, aggressive preservatives, and synthetic fragrances, as they damage the wires by opening the cuticle, thereby making the colour last less than expected. Another important tip is to never stop using a colour fixation conditioner as it helps in sealing the cuticles, making the colour last longer.
Tip 5: Avoid using hot shower water because it has the ability to remove colour gradually. The hot water opens the cuticle of the hair, leaving it more susceptible to damage.
Tip 6: Protect yourself from chlorine by wetting your hair with fresh water before going to the pool and applying a moisturising mask with vegetable ingredients, for colour maintenance.
Tip 7: Invest in high-quality products rather than those that may have negative side effects. Always opt for plant maintenance lines with selected ingredients.
Tip 8: Avoid sun exposure, protecting yourself with a hat or cap.
