BTS’ j-hope Gets Gold Toilet Brush Worth Rs 21,000 As B'Day Gift From Jin

Jung Ho-seok, better known as j-hope of the global phenomenon BTS, is celebrating his birthday today with the most intriguing gift from fellow BTS member Jin. Ahead of his birthday, on Wednesday, Hobi (as he’s fondly called by BTS and fans alike) posted on Instagram that Jin sent him a bunch of birthday gifts, including a cake and a box of strawberries.

j-hope shared this with the message "I love you Jin hyung (elder brother)”, but saved the best for the last. In another story, he shared the final gift from Jin, the Merdolino Gold Alessi toilet brush that costs 250 euros or Rs 21,332! The Alessi website describes the brush as part of a collection presented in 1992 that “scandalised design prudes… Re-proposed in an all-golden form, it has become a paradoxical object par excellence: it contradicts current logic, surprising with its oddity, and becomes an art object dedicated to collectors.” It is coated in gold and is part of a limited edition collection with 999 numbered copies and three artist's proofs.

If Hobi’s stories were anything to go by, he was thrilled and amused by the present. This speaks to the fun and extremely close dynamic of the group, where Jin, the oldest member of BTS, has a reputation for being the funny one, making everyone laugh constantly, especially with his dad jokes. Hobi is the sunshine of the group, who laughs the hardest at Jin’s jokes.

j-hope kicked off his birthday celebrations by going live with his millions of fans, the BTS ARMY, at midnight and cutting a cake on camera while some of the members, like V and Jungkook, called to wish him. He turns 27 today, but his Korean age is now 29. After all seven members of the band joined Instagram in December, he’s been the one to post most consistently, so we can hope to see more pictures from his birthday celebrations making way to our timelines soon.
