It’s not everyday that you wake up and look like sunshine. But, it’s fair to say that Alia Bhatt successfully does that more often than not. Take her recent look for instance; she shines in a sunflower yellow number with soft and skin-like makeup. Yep, we took notice of ‘em fake freckles too. All in all, this look isn’t one of those aspirational ones, it’s an easy-to-create look that will take you nothing more than ten minutes to achieve it.
SKIN
Gear up your skin for the makeup by starting afresh; cleansed, toned and moisturised skin are prerequisites. Go in with a lightweight gel-based moisturiser if you’re wearing this look during the day, specially in monsoons. Skipping a sunblock is still not an option. A gel-based or powder matte formulation is ideal. Finally, go on with a few spritzes of a setting spray – you’ll thank us later for this.
BASE
Once the spray seeps into the skin, rub some primer all over the face – a silicone-based is apt – and massage it in well to blur out the pores. Next, dab some concealer under your eyes, around the nose and the temples. Grab a sponge and get blending. Now, you’ll only dot foundation that’s required at the bare minimum – there’s no scope for cakiness whatsoever. Blend that out seamlessly with a blending brush and bestow evenness to your skin. Set the concealed areas with tinted loose powder.

COLOUR UP!
Not the blush, but the bronzer is what Alia’s makeup artist Puneet Saini has built upon. We love them summer-in-the-monsoons kinda vibes. You can brush some autumn fall-ish hued blush on the highest points of your cheekbones. And, follow up with a light dust of highlighter – keep away from chunky ones. Now, pick up a brow pen and dot spots all across the cheeks as seen here; that’s how you sketch your way to fake freckles. Add the bronzer and freckle detailing on the nose too.
EYES
The eyes boast a play of mauve-y brown eyeshadows. It’s interesting how the eye makeup look’s compatibility has such a wide range. Blend some eyeshadow all over the lids and extend it to your lower lash line – smoke it out, of course. Glide a nude eye pencil in your lower water liner and complete the eye look with heaps of mascara. Lastly, fill in the spaces of your brows and lock ‘em in with brow gel.
LIPS
Dab some lip salve and glide a creamy caramel nude lipstick all over your lips. Finally, dab some more of that lip salve for a moisturised yet non-glossy look.
